Salary: £12.26 p/h

The successful applicant will provide relief support to the Catering team, ensuring that all catering services are of the highest possible standard. You will be required to perform a variety of duties as instructed by the Chef Manager, based on the academy's cover requirements for the day. Duties may include; preparing and cooking meals in accordance with the daily menu and following the government guidelines with assistance from the general catering staff, serving meals, participating in the cleaning schedule, and assisting with the administrative work in connection with the running of the kitchen, which includes, food ordering, maintaining stock control, completion of daily safety logs ensuring all the information is completed fully to the standards required by the trust.
Working as part of a dedicated team, providing catering services to pupils, you will need to demonstrate:
Working knowledge of HACCP, and Health and Safety in a Catering environment.
Experience of working within an education environment, though this is not essential.
Good organisational ability.
Excellent hygiene and health & safety practices
First class communication skills
Knowledge of Government Nutritional Standards
The successful candidate will hold:
Level 2 Food Safety Certificate
NVQ Level 2 in Catering and Hospitality or equivalent and be willing to work towards this.
The required availability for this role is Monday to Friday, 7.45 am to 2.00pm, to include a 30-minute unpaid break (when applicable).
