About The Role
Practice Plus Group is one of England's largest independent providers of self-pay, insured and NHS healthcare. Practice Plus Group Hospital Plymouth has a CQC Good rating and provides excellent healthcare to the population of Plymouth and the south west region, including Cornwall, Isles of Scilly and all of Devon. We are an elective surgical centre providing arthroplasty surgery, orthopaedics, general surgery, endoscopy and cataract surgery.
The clinical services include Outpatients, Day Surgery Unit, Inpatient Ward, Theatres, Endoscopy suite, Radiography, Physiotherapy and Pharmacy with care provided by a multidisciplinary team.
The ward is 30 bedded and staffed 24/7 by nurses, nurse associates and healthcare assistants. We are looking to recruit an experienced, dynamic and inspiring nurse leader as our inpatient Ward Manager. This is an exciting time to join PPG Plymouth as we are increasing our clinical activity and growing our teams. The inpatient ward primarily cares for our post-operative arthroplasty patients with some general surgery and other orthopaedic surgery patients.
What you'll be doing
To deliver a high standard of patient care supported by evidence based practice.
To ensure that nursing is practised within the constraints of and guided by:
* All relevant Department of Health Legislation
* NMC Code of professional conduct.
* Care Quality Commission standards
* NICE guidelines
* Group policies and procedures.
* Unit specific policies and procedures.
This vacancy will be on our Ward covering days and nights.
Day Shift hours: 07:30 - 20:00
Night Shift: 19:30 - 08:00
What we'll look for in you:
* NMC Registered Nurse Part 1
* Recent post registration experience
* Ability to maintain and enhance effective working relationships
* Ability to plan, allocate and evaluate own work and develop self to enhance performance
* Ability to plan the work of a team
* Ability to teach/train nursing staff
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
* Ability to monitor and control resources
* Excellent time management skills
* Able to meet the needs of the patients
* Is familiar with the company Safety and Infection control policy and procedures
* Committed to the overall aims of PHG.
* Committed to the provision of quality services.
* A flexible, positive attitude to performing a variety of duties.
* Willing to develop/learn in the role.
