We are offering an exciting opportunity to an experienced and qualified Senior Nurse to join the Occupational Health and Wellbeing services on a part-time basis. You will be based at Peterborough City Hospital; however, travel between North West Anglia NHS hospital sites will be required.
You will be the expert voice in advising and guiding managers, employees and other stakeholders therefore, the preferred applicant should hold an Occupational Health Qualification and/or have Occupational Health experience.

Main duties of the job
In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments, develop tailored intervention plans, and provide expert advice and support to Managers and employees.
You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and stay updated with the latest practices in occupational health.
You will collaborate with managers to help promote a healthy work environment providing professional advice and guidance.
You will provide all aspects of nursing care including consultation, advice, education, testing and immunisations where appropriate and in accordance with patient group directives, departmental protocols and current Health and Safety legislation.
You will provide outstanding standard of clinical care, ensuring that all clinical standards are met and where necessary, taking appropriate corrective action. You will use Occupational Health knowledge, principles and practice when advising managers and clients on an individual’s fitness to work at the pre-employment stage and during employment taking into account any relevant legislation such as the disability component of the Equality Act 2010.
You will develop and support the implementation of workforce programmes and policies to achieve the Trust’s strategic objectives, while being actively involved in clinical governance and SEQOHS accreditation.

Person specification
Education & Qualifications
* Registration with NMC Part 1
* Evidence of up to date knowledge base of professional and specialist issues
* Sound educational background including a good standard of numeracy and written English
* Specialist OH Nurse on Part 3 of the NMC register/OH qualification
* NEBOSH Qualification
Experience
* Extensive experience at Band 5 or equivalent in Occupational Health
* Quality issues in detail understanding of clinical governance, audit and clinical effectiveness and their application to occupational health
* Current Immunisation training
* Knowledge and understanding of occupational diseases and ill health arising from the working environment
* Experience of undertaking audit or nurse research
* An enthusiastic and inspiring role model grounded in practice.
* Demonstrates a clear understanding of professional accountability in the scope of professional practice
* Ability to work effectively independently and also within a team framework. Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral
* Knowledge and experience of occupational health in the business Sector
* Management and/or Leadership experience
* Working in a nurse led OH service
* Awareness of broader issues within the NHS
* Experience working in NHS Occupational Health
* Experience in phlebotomy
