My client based in Newbury is looking for a Quantity Surveyor with 2+ years of experience in the construction industry to work with the Buying, Contracts, Estimating & Finance Departments. Reporting to the Operations Director and Department Heads.
Key Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor
* Cost Reconciliation Reporting
* Coordinating monthly reporting from CM’s
* Reviewing CM’s monthly cost reports
* Completing monthly project cost report summary for the board
* Tracking changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections in line with these.
* Contract Cashflow
* Coordinating CM’s monthly project cashflow updates
* Updating contract master cashflow
* Groundwork Procurement
* Bills of Quantities
* Tender packages and tender return analysis
* Placing PO’s and managing cost budgets
* Groundwork Valuations
* Agreeing GW valuations on major projects in conjunction with CM
* Settling Final Accounts
* Estimating Department
* Production of groundwork BoQ’s at tender stage for specialist projects
Key Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor
* 2+ years QS experience within the construction sector
* Good IT skills and the ability to learn how to use specialist software
* Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills
* The ability to work in a team
* Negotiation skills
* Attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.
