Job Description:
Senior Category Manager - Property & Facilities
Salary between £60,000 - £70,000
Locations: York, Bristol, and Norwich
We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Senior Category Manager - Property & Facilities in Aviva’s Procurement team.
In Aviva’s Procurement function, we manage the company’s indirect Third Party spend. We work with the business to shape requirements and source fit-for-purpose products and services under appropriate contracts, on the best terms, driving maximum value.
We also provide a framework for managing suppliers to maximize performance and operational risk management. Our focus is on supporting the strategy, especially in People and Professional Services, across all Business Units.
A bit about the job:
The role aims to maximize value through end-to-end management of Aviva’s key suppliers and third-party spend, focusing on performance and benefits. You will meet commercial targets, including cost reductions, and manage relevant category or sub-category spend. You’ll also handle outsourcing projects aligned with group strategy, requiring strong stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
Specializing in Property & Facilities Management Services, you’ll use your skills in commercial management, supplier relationships, risk management, and category management to drive value, performance, and innovation, while mitigating risks and managing contracts for performance and benefits.
You will develop sourcing and supply chain strategies based on market intelligence and existing supplier arrangements, working closely with business teams to create effective contracts, manage supply chains, and develop supplier relationships to deliver operational service and value.
Reporting to the Head of Procurement, you’ll maintain strong relationships across business units, take personal responsibility for your spend category, and share your expertise to develop the team.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Strong commercial and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to build internal and supplier relationships.
* Leadership skills with a track record in strategy optimization and delivering category management results.
* Experience in contracting, sourcing, and negotiating agreements within governance frameworks.
* CIPS qualification or degree level education or equivalent is preferable.
* Change management experience; knowledge of People and Professional Services or Financial Services is desirable.
What you’ll get for this role:
* Salary between £60,000 - £70,000 (dependent on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
* Bonus opportunity of 12% of annual salary, based on performance
* Generous pension scheme with up to 14% contributions from Aviva
* 29 days holiday plus bank holidays, with options to buy or sell days
* Up to 40% discount on Aviva products and other retailer discounts
* Up to £1,200 of free Aviva shares annually via the Matching Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme
* Supportive policies including parental and carer’s leave
* Flexible benefits, including sustainability options like cycle to work
* Paid volunteering days and wellbeing support
