Job Summary
As a team we treat up to 180 patients per day via the SACT Day Unit and Peripheral Sites.
We offer treatments to all solid tumour disease groups on our day case unit at The Christie and our peripheral sites at St Ann's (Little Hulton), St Luke's (Winsford), Tameside Macmillan Unit, Dr Kershaw's (Oldham) and Bury Hospice.
On appointment you would receive a comprehensive 8-week supernumerary training package, in which you have exposure to different anti-cancer treatments in different disease group fields and complete the UKONS passport. You will gain experience in treating a variety of patients with potentially curative diseases, alongside palliative and clinical trial treatments.
As part of the induction program, you will also have the opportunity to work at our SACT peripheral sites. You will be also given the opportunity to work within our nurse led clinics such as pre assessment, pre-treatment consultation and oral SACT clinics.
We are an innovative and forward-thinking unit, which is dedicated to reviewing and developing the ways that we work for the needs of our patients. We are welcoming to new ideas and would look forward to working with nurses who have a genuine passion for caring for patients in this field.
We are open 6 days a week, Monday-Friday 8am until 8pm and Saturday from 8am until 6pm. We also open on Bank Holidays and have a range of working shift patterns within the week.
Unfortunately, we currently do not offer support with the OSCE process.
