We are seeking an organised and thorough Accounts and Payroll Assistant to join our busy Accounts team. Working from our Support offices in Wakefield, you will be part of a growing, ambitious team.

Job Opportunity
Payroll:
· Processing monthly/weekly payroll for [number] employees.
· Calculating and processing statutory deductions (PAYE, National Insurance, etc.).
· Managing employee timesheets and attendance records.
· Handling payroll queries and resolving discrepancies.
· Preparing and submitting payroll reports.
· Maintaining accurate payroll records.
· Processing year end payroll tasks, P60's, P11D's, etc.
Accounts:
· Processing invoices and payments (accounts payable and receivable).
· Reconciling bank statements and credit card transactions.
· Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures
· Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems.
· Data entry and general ledger maintenance.
· Assisting with audits.
· Handling supplier queries.
· Helping with the preparation of financial reports.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in a payroll and/ or accounts administration or assistant role.
- A strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and procedures.
- Excellent numerical and data entry skills.
- Proficiency in using payroll software (experience with Sage Payroll] is desirable).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
