Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need, including those in assisted living environments, home care settings, or with specific needs such as dementia care. This position requires a patient and empathetic approach, ensuring the well-being and dignity of all clients.
Duties
1. Provide personal care to clients, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
2. Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
3. Support clients with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary.
4. Engage in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation for clients.
5. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel.
6. Assist with household tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry to create a safe and comfortable living environment.
7. Offer emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.
8. Implement first aid procedures when required and ensure the safety of clients at all times.
Experience
Candidates should possess experience in patient care or related fields such as childcare or home care. Previous exposure to dementia care is advantageous but not essential. Skills in medication administration are preferred, alongside a basic understanding of first aid practices. A background in assisted living environments or nursing is beneficial for this role. The ability to perform heavy lifting safely is also required. A caring attitude combined with excellent communication skills will be essential for success in this position.
