CANDIDATE PROFILE
We require a Senior HR Operations Advisor to support our HR team in delivering the company’s strategy, which is built on our inclusive culture and strong core values.
This role calls for a strong operational mindset and the ability to provide comprehensive HR support, ensuring policy compliance and a high-quality service to employees and managers.
You will be responsible for implementing all HR processes, taking full ownership of end-to-end operational activities, including HR systems, payroll, benefits, company engagement surveys, wellbeing initiatives, and coordinating a comprehensive onboarding process for new joiners.
You need to be fully or part CIPD qualified (level 5 or higher), with a minimum of three years experience in a similar position. You will be a committed team player with excellent written and non-verbal communication skills. The ability to manage and prioritise tasks from multiple sources is essential, as is the discretion to handle confidential information with complete confidentiality.

The role is based in our Ipswich office, with a balance of hybrid working.
Duties And Responsibilities
Operations
1. To take ownership of all HR operational activities, ensuring compliance with company policies
2. Ensure policies and procedures align with employment legislation
3. Monitor and report on key HR metrics, including headcount, turnover, retention, and attendance rates, proactively raising concerns with relevant stakeholders
4. Manage competency framework processes, monitor personal development outcomes, and identify any learning and development needs
5. Oversee the training and membership processes
6. Provide HR oversight of the mentorship programme
7. Administer company benefits programmes, including renewals, and maintain strong provider relationships
8. Manage HR platforms to ensure data accuracy, updating stakeholders on changes (e.g. payroll) and maintaining employee records
9. Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and manage their expectations
10. Assist the Head of HR in reviewing and improving HR practices, including performance evaluation methods (e.g. Personal Development Plans, employee appraisal systems)
11. Manage engagement surveys, analyze feedback, and recommend action plans to drive business performance and implement improvements
12. Support the Head of HR with all people-related projects such as inclusion initiatives
13. Other tasks as required, depending on business needs
Projects and Administration
1. Draft and manage documentation for HR operations, including onboarding, policies, and standard operations procedures
2. Serve as first point of contact for all HR operational queries (e.g. policies, payroll, benefits)
3. Review HR platforms and systems to ensure they are fit for purpose
4. Lead the implementation of new HR processes, benefits, and systems
5. Oversee monthly payroll changes and manage relationship with payroll providers
6. Lead HR projects from inception to delivery, ensuring deadlines are met

Education and experience
1. CIPD qualified (Level 5 or higher)
2. Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
3. Ideally from a professional, service-related environment
4. Extensive knowledge of UK employment laws and best practices
5. Strong operational HR background
6. Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
7. High emotional intelligence and ability to exercise discretion
