Fostering Team Manager Hampshire County Council are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic Team Manager to join our Fostering Service. The appointed Team Manager will be responsible for the Fostering Support Team for the West of Hampshire. As a Fostering Team Manager, you will be expected to supervise and oversee a busy team of social workers and support workers with the objective of providing an effective, high-quality service to foster carers, children and partners. The role of the team focusses on providing high quality supervision, support and training to foster carers to ensure foster carers are equipped to meet the challenges of the role and provide placement stability to Hampshire’s Children In Care. The fostering service responds to the needs of children in care and foster carers and strives to continuously improve and adapt the service offer to meet the current need. About Hampshire’s Fostering Service Hampshire Children’s Services is rated outstanding by Ofsted. Hampshire County Council’s fostering agency (branded Fostering Hampshire Children) is a local authority owned fostering agency recruiting and supporting foster carers for children who are unable to live with their own families, either until they can return home or, sometimes, until adulthood. There are currently approximately 480 fostering households registered with Hampshire County Council. Our ideal candidate Reporting to the Fostering Service Manager, you will have experience of managing a busy team. You will have direct line management responsibility for Supervising Social Workers and Fostering Support Workers. You will demonstrate impeccable knowledge of Fostering Minimum Standards, Safeguarding and Fostering Legislation and Care Planning Regulations. You will have a key role in supporting the Service Manager in the continuous development of the service and may be given responsibility for specialist service areas and the delivery of key service targets and objectives. Travel Requirements You will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire (and the Isle of Wight or other local authority), and it is essential that you have a current drivers’ licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis.
