Job description
Our client, a leading manufacturing and engineering company, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the sales and design team by working on the mechanical design of new products and upgrades to existing products. This is a permanent position based on-site, with occasional travel to sites as required.
Salary: £30,000

Summary of role:
In this role, you will be involved in the full lifecycle of the product, from initial conception and design to production and installation. You will ensure that projects are completed within agreed deadlines and budgets. This position would be ideal for a Graduate with some industry experience looking for a new and exciting challenge .

Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Follow the project life cycle from conception to installation
2. Meet deadlines and budget requirements agreed with clients
3. Work within a small team of multi-disciplined engineers
4. Identify and define technical product specifications based on customer needs
5. Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
6. Prepare clear and comprehensive technical documentation with associated bill of materials
7. Liaise with in-house engineers, manufacturers, suppliers, and customers
8. Create 3D models
9. Maintain confidentiality regarding intellectual property
10. Assist with other duties and projects as directed by your manager
Qualifications, Experience and Essential Skills:
11. Engineering degree or relevant industry experience
12. Excellent computer skills, including CAD, CAM, Solidworks, and DraftSight
13. Analytical mindset
14. Customer-focused
15. Attention to detail
16. Current clean driving licence
