The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Cymru Wales is the National Governing Body for the sports of sailing, windsurfing and powerboating in Wales. The RYA is the national governing body for dinghy, motor and sail cruising, all forms of sail racing, RIBs and sportsboats, windsurfing and personal watercraft, and is a leading representative body for inland waterways cruising in the UK.
The post is full time, permanent under a joint employment contract between RYA and RYA Cymru Wales.
Salary: £26,000
Hours: Full-Time, 35 hours per week
Location: Primarily remote, with travel across Wales and occasional UK-wide travel

About The Role
As a Pathway and Events Officer, you'll contribute to delivering high-quality events across Wales, from regional championships to large-scale festivals, and supporting pathway activities at our hub clubs. Your work will also include assisting the planning for Cardiff’s hosting of the EuroGames 2027, Europe’s largest multi-sport event for LGBTIQ+ athletes and allies.
Summary Of Responsibilities
* Identify and prioritise activities in clubs, class associations, and centres.
* Support vibrant club and class racing through collaboration with the Club Development Officer.
* Manage and oversee the events budget.
* Deliver coaching within RYA Cymru Wales programmes.
* Collaborate across RYA Cymru Wales to promote organisational successes.
* Undertake professional development to enhance skills relevant to the role.
Events
* Develop event concepts and manage project plans.
* Promote and market events via digital content and branding.
* Handle pre-event logistics, venue arrangements, and stakeholder liaison.
* Provide on-site preparation and administrative support during events.
* Manage post-event engagement and feedback.
Pathway
* Support and deliver development plans in Pathway/Hub clubs.
* Lead and oversee programmes within Pathway/Hub activities.
* Assist in administering the Welsh National Sailing Team.
Skills And Experience Required
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office and databases.
* Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Attention to detail and the ability to prioritise workloads.
* Experience in event organisation and stakeholder engagement.
* RYA Race Coach Level 2 qualification and a clean UK driving license.
Desirable
* Welsh language skills.
* Experience managing budgets and working with volunteers.
* Social media and website skills.
This role requires flexible working, including evenings and weekends, with travel and overnight stays.
