Fairfields is leading infrastructure projects for the Environment Agency’s Asset, Operation, Maintenance & Response (AOMR) framework across the East, South East, and South West of England. In our commitment to delivering Lot 2 – MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation), we are seeking a dedicated Contract/Project Manager in the East region. These critical roles will oversee the day-to-day management of Call-off Contracts, ensuring adherence to contractual conditions and guiding the delivery of services from bid through to completion.

The Role
Key Purpose: Oversee the day-to-day management of Call-off Contracts, ensuring adherence to contractual conditions and guiding the delivery of services from bid through to completion.
* Contract Management: Direct the day-to-day operations of Call-off Contracts, ensuring adherence to contractual conditions and the successful delivery of services in alignment with tendered works. This includes managing various types of contracts, particularly NEC4 ECC and ECSC.
* Project Delivery: Ensure projects are efficiently designed, planned, and executed on time and within budget, complying with Health and Safety and CDM 2015 regulations while maintaining the highest quality standards.
* Commercial Performance: Work closely with the framework manager and our commercial team to provide commercial management of projects, focusing on delivery, invoicing, and managing changes effectively.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary contact for the client, participating in monthly progress meetings (or as required) to discuss project pipeline, KPIs, NCRs, expenditure, project delivery, SHEW, sustainability, and other critical issues.
* Framework Support: Collaborate alongside other Contract/Project Managers from different regions to support the Framework Manager, sharing best practices and ensuring consistent delivery across the regions.
* SHEW and Sustainability: Promote SHEW (Safety, Health, Environment, and Wellbeing) and sustainability practices within project operations, ensuring all activities meet regulatory and framework standards.
* Bid Management and Pricing: Manage pricing for direct award work using established rates and oversee call-off contract bids. Collaborate with the pre-contract and estimating team, gather client requirements, conduct site visits, and ensure accurate subcontractor quotes align with project proposals.
Sites and Assets:
Manage a variety of sites and assets, including pumping stations, flood and water gates, sluice gates, and various control and automation systems.
Service Specialisms:
Projects will encompass services such as pump installations and repair, water control structures installations, switchgear, motor control centres installations, and other MEICA-related works.
The Candidate
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
* Demonstrated experience in contract and project management for MEICA projects.
* In-depth knowledge of contractual obligations and project management methodologies, with specific experience in NEC4 contracts.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
* A strong commitment to SHEW and sustainability principles.
* Ability to travel within the assigned region for project meetings and site visits.
