The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and eager to learn our business. Working in close conjunction with our Senior QS to apply for our monthly applications and manage all our live contracts' commercial aspects. The applicant will also be involved with our tender submission process, having the potential to be involved from tender stage right through to final account agreement on completed contracts.
Hybrid working is available for the right candidate.
Salary: £35,000 to £50,000 dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Agreement of interim payment amounts with clients, monitoring when payments notices are due/received/outstanding.
2. Preparing project budgets in conjunction with the Contracts Managers and Operations Director.
3. Monitoring budgets against costs and projections on a monthly basis.
4. Sending subcontractor enquiries, analysing quotations, placement of orders, interim payments & agreement of subcontractor final accounts.
5. Ensuring that we fulfil all our contractual obligations.
6. Advising contracts managers regarding all commercial matters (variations, delays etc.) and ensuring that they are identified and recorded.
7. Assisting contracts managers in the preparation of contractual notices.
8. Site visits are essential to monitor for possible variations and similar matters and ensure that site records are produced.
9. Maintaining good relationships with clients, consultants, and colleagues.
Person Specification:
1. Tendering, contract review, change control, valuations, and final account settlement experience.
2. Understanding of the JCT Standard Forms of Contract and similar.
3. Quantity surveying degree or professional qualifications.
4. Excellent IT skills (particularly Microsoft Excel).
5. Experience of producing and monitoring project budgets.
6. Experience of monitoring when payments are due/received/outstanding.
7. CSCS Card.
8. Full UK Driving Licence.
General: Any other reasonable tasks as required by the Finance and Operations teams.
