The Role: Mid-Weight Designer We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Mid-Weight Designer to lead and support the design and delivery of new restaurant openings. You will develop brand-aligned design concepts and oversee their execution, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery. This fast-paced role requires expertise in the fit-out process, material selection, and the ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities: Design Leadership: Lead the design process, creating detailed documentation like floor plans, sketches, and 3D models. Present design concepts to senior management, incorporating feedback into final designs. Project Coordination & Management: Manage multiple projects from concept to completion, collaborating with project managers, contractors, and suppliers. Conduct site visits to ensure design intent is met and troubleshoot design challenges. Fit-Out & Installation Oversight: Review shop drawings and oversee FF&E selection, procurement, and installation. Ensure all materials and finishes meet budget, brand standards, and functional needs. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with senior designers, construction teams, and operations to align designs with operational needs. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and contractors for smooth project execution. Design Innovation & Standards: Stay current on industry trends and sustainable practices, contributing to evolving design guidelines. About You: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field. 3-5 years of experience in commercial or hospitality design, with a portfolio showcasing restaurant or retail environments. Proven experience managing fast-track fit-out projects from concept to completion. Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or Revit. Experience with 3D rendering software (e.g. Enscape, V-Ray). Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, FF&E, and building codes. Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple design projects under tight deadlines. Experience troubleshooting design and construction issues effectively. Soft Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills for presenting ideas and collaborating with stakeholders. Attention to detail and a creative, problem-solving mindset.
