Effectiveness Manager
Reporting to: Effectiveness Lead
About the role:
This critical role will be a part of Wavemaker UK’s Effectiveness Consultancy, which resides within Wavemaker UK’s wider Evaluation & Effectiveness team. The Evaluation & Effectiveness team is comprised of two key pillars: Effectiveness Consultancy and Modelling Solutions. These are very much complementary in terms of driving effective planning decisions across our clients’ marketing mix through the means of implementing best-in-class effectiveness frameworks and leveraging data and advanced analytics.
The Evaluation & Effectiveness team is a rapidly growing one working across a broad range of clients of different scales and industry sectors, from large complex advertisers such as Nationwide Building Society and Morrisons through to smaller regional advertisers such as Vimto. We also work across a number of the government departments, delivering insight on efficient ways to drive behaviour change (as opposed to purely focusing on sales or revenue).
A key component of our offering are our statistical modelling solutions, the three main parts of which are WM Econometrics IQ which focuses on understanding the drivers of a client’s sales, WM Vitality IQ which focuses on understanding the drivers of a client’s brand health, and finally WM Optimiser IQ which is our scenario planning and forecasting tool which uses the outputs of both Econometrics IQ and Vitality IQ to drive more effective planning solutions. These products allow us to provide recommendations that drive tangible business improvements to our clients.
The Effectiveness Manager will support the Effectiveness Lead across a portfolio of clients, working closely with Wavemaker’s client planning and activation teams. The Effectiveness Manager will be responsible for ensuring there is a culture of effectiveness within our planning and activation communities, delivering the most appropriate measurement techniques to understand performance across all aspects of the plan and being able to close the loop between the outputs of measurement studies and the ongoing direction of the plan.
In this role, you will:
* Drive a culture of effectiveness
* Complete regular measurement audits of clients’ current capabilities and prioritise recommendations for future improvements to measurement set up based on effort vs return
* Ensure that measurement and effectiveness is a consideration at all stages of the planning process from strategy development through to activation.
* Work with activation teams to design tests/experiments to understand granular channel performance.
* Build an understanding of measurement tools and techniques available to understand performance.
* Link data/analysis to future planning implications
* Work with the planning and activation teams to ensure the learnings from previous analysis are fed back into future planning cycles.
* Own clients’ Optimiser tool, working with planning teams on scenario planning and understanding the implications of changes to media plans.
* Develop an understanding of the drivers of performance beyond marketing levers to provide a broader view on the most effective approach to maximise client performance.
* Core Project Delivery
* Manage the internal delivery of analytical projects across the Wavemaker Modelling Solutions, Audience Science and Analytical teams.
Core skills:
* Practice Area Knowledge
* Problem Solving
* Stakeholder Relations
* Effective Communication
* Client Partnering & Consulting
* Building a Business Case
