As a CNC Setter / Operator, youll be responsible for setting and operating CNC lathes or mills to produce high-quality precision parts. Your day-to-day duties will include preparing machines, running production cycles, and conducting part inspections using measuring tools such as verniers, micrometres, and gauges. Youll also ensure each component meets exacting standards (around 0.1 - 0.2 tolerance) As a CNC Setter / Operator, you work closely with team leaders and other departments, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), production plans, and maintenance schedules. As part of a high-performing team, youll be expected to maintain a clean and efficient workstation, take part in front-line asset care, and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Flexibility is key, and you may be asked to support team training or undertake other tasks as required. The company is looking for you to have at least 1 years CNC Setter / Operator experience in either a production or machine shop environment. Have solid experience with callipers, micrometres, verniers, gauges first off / batch checking alongside a good understanding of reading engineering diagrams / technical drawings. Have experience in one or several of the following: Aluminium, steel, Inconel, plastics, Stainless steel or Cast Iron. CNC Setter / Operator Key Responsibilities: Set and operate CNC lathes or Mills to manufacture precision components in line with production specifications and daily job plans. Inspect and verify part quality using accurate measuring tools such as verniers, micrometres, and gauges, ensuring all outputs meet tight tolerances. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adhere to set production rates, ensuring consistency and operational efficiency. Carry out deburring, cleaning, and packaging of components as per defined procedures, maintaining product integrity and presentation. Perform basic maintenance and front-line operator asset care (FLOAC) to support the longevity and performance of machinery. Comply with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and risk reduction. Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing ideas and feedback to support lean manufacturing and productivity goals. Communicate effectively with team members and support functions including Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues and maintain workflow. CNC Setter / Operator Key skills / experience: 1 years experience as a CNC Setter/Operator in a production or machine shop environment Confident using measuring equipment including callipers, micrometres, verniers, and gauges Experience with first-off inspection and batch checking Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or technical diagrams Experienced working with: Aluminium, steel, Inconel, plastics, Stainless steel or Cast Iron.
