Your Opportunity
Our Atlantic Transportation Group has an immediate requirement for a Junior CAD Technician in our Moncton and Dartmouth offices. This position is to complement our growing Transportation Team who is actively involved in transportation, roadways, and bridge projects all over Atlantic Canada, and with the potential to work on other National and International projects. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can work in a team environment and want to be involved in exciting Local, Regional, National, and international projects.
Your Key Responsibilities
In this role, your responsibilities may include:
* Preparing functional, preliminary, and detailed design engineering drawings.
* Quantity calculations and construction cost estimates.
* Working in a team environment with Project Managers, designers, other CADD staff and coordination with other disciplines.
* Importing/exporting/processing survey data.
* Preparation of construction tender/contract drawings.
* Providing surveying, field construction observation, technical support, and inspection and administrating contracts would be considered an asset.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
* Experience and proficiency in one or more of the following software packages: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation.
* Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Able to work independently and contribute to a team environment.
* Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation.
* Strong organizational skills, time management and ability to prioritize.
Education and Experience
* Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in Civil Engineering Technology (structural, highway and/or municipal discipline) diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution.
* A combination of education and experience will be considered.
* Minimum 1 year of experience in CAD.
* Membership or accredited technical designation considered an asset.
Position will primarily work in an office setting and may require some field work.
