We are delighted to be retained by our client Evoframes to recruit an experienced Factory Manager for their rapidly developing Livingston-based manufacturing facility.
Evoframes specialises in the manufacture of premium fenestration products for trade. retail and new build customers. With over 70 skilled professionals, providing quality VEKA windows and doors, crafted in their 60,000 square foot factory.

The role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will oversee all manufacturing operations for the Livingston site, primarily managing a skilled manufacturing team and contributing to the effective, efficient and safe production of PVCu window and door products.
Role responsibilities
* Oversee manufacturing sheduling to ensure items on the order schedule are produced on time, with the highest quality specification and despatched to the customer with all relevant ancillaries.
* Ensure glass unit orders are processed and coordinated with frame production.
* Manage and support the distribution of aftercare items such as glass, hardware and other materials as requested by the Customer Care Department.
* Ensure machinery maintenance schedules are implemented and adhered to including end of shift clean downs.
* Minimise time lost to machinery breakdowns by the effective use of on-site and external engineering resource.
* Lead a culture of safe working. Ensure that accidents and near-misses are recorded and investigated appropriately and assessed for the prevention of further occurrences.
* Develop and manage an appropriate skills matrix by job role and department. Ensure supervisory staff are capable of assessing and recording skills. Regularly review the progress of skills training.
* Ensure a fair and consistent approach to performance/disciplinary issues with the focus on improvement.
* Manage staffing levels in line with the demands of the business, ensuring sufficient people are available to meet varying workloads, including the utilisation of agency resource when necessary.
* Provide timely and accurate reporting on agreed manufacturing KPI’s.
Skills & Experience
* 5-10 years’ experience in a process manufacturing environment.
* 3-5 years’ experience in managing the end-to-end process of window and door fabrication, preferably PVCu but timber, aluminium or composite will be considered.
* In depth knowledge of factory-based Health & Safety regulations.
* Demonstrated ability to plan and execute production from order schedules in order to meet Company lead-times.
* A good understanding of employment laws with the ability to seek guidance from HR and the Company Handbook where necessary.
* Competent in the use of MS Office Packages (Word, Excel & Outlook)
