ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable HR Coordinator to join the Strathberry team. Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, this role will provide general HR support across the company across the full employee journey, from recruitment and onboarding, to coordinating monthly payroll and dealing with staff queries.
We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about creating a good working culture and is able to proactively contribute ideas to ensure ongoing improvement across all HR approaches, processes and systems. Great attention to detail is essential, as is being able to work independently and understanding how to organise and prioritise your workload.
We work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and need to sometimes react quickly and always accurately to situations therefore being responsive and flexible is key. In liaising with staff members and external parties, such as potential candidates, you will need to have excellent verbal and written communications and understand the need to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality at all times.
Please note: This is a permanent position based in Edinburgh. Full-time or part-time hours may be considered. We are currently operating a hybrid working approach with fixed days required each week working from our beautiful Townhouse in Edinburgh City Centre.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment and Onboarding:
* Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening CVs, and scheduling interviews.
* Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing contracts, completion of pre-employment checks and references and conducting induction sessions.
Employee Records Management:
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, employment history, and performance evaluations.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR and company policies regarding record-keeping.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
* Co-ordinate monthly payroll processing by ensuring all rotas, leave records, and compensation data are accurately collected.
* Help manage employee benefits, including health insurance, pension plans, and leave entitlements.
Employee Relations:
* Serve as a point of contact for employee enquiries regarding company policies, benefits, and workplace concerns.
* Assist in supporting employee relations and ensuring a positive working environment.
Compliance and Reporting:
* Assist in ensuring the organisation’s HR practices comply with employment law.
* Help with the preparation of reports on HR metrics, including turnover rates, employee engagement, and other relevant data.
General HR Support:
* Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and handling correspondence.
* Support with coordination of staff events.
* Assist with other special HR projects as needed.
ABOUT YOU
To be a star candidate for this position, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
* Minimum 2 years’ previous experience in an HR administration or similar supporting role.
* CIPD or other HR qualifications are desirable but not essential.
* Experience in processing or supporting payroll is desirable but not essential.
* Strong IT skills, comfortable using MS Office and online systems.
* Able to ensure absolute discretion and confidentiality at all times in dealing with sensitive staff and company matters.
* Excellent communication skills are essential – both written and verbal, in-person and on the telephone.
* Dynamic and able to work within a fast-paced environment, whilst also ensuring high attention to detail in all written and administrative work.
* Highly-organised and able to juggle competing priorities.
* A strong team player, who is personable and approachable.
