What the Job Involves As a Transport Officer, you will be responsible for planning and arranging home-to-school and social services transport networks. You will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, liaising with clients and service providers to review and improve passenger transport networks using relevant software where applicable. Your role includes preparing service designs and tender specifications, evaluating tenders, making award recommendations, maintaining precise financial records, and managing contracts to ensure compliance and efficiency. You will assist with the development of transport information services, ensuring customers are well-informed and services are marketed. Close collaboration with schools, local authorities, and external agencies will be expected to ensure resource efficiency and share best practices. Managing sensitive information confidently and ensuring data protection compliance is critical. Your duties also involve risk assessment management and promoting behavior improvement initiatives among transport users. Regular interaction with contractors, schools, and parents, as well as investigations into service concerns, form part of your responsibilities. Supporting safeguarding procedures and leading investigations in the absence of the lead officer are also required.
