A well-established and expanding consultancy is looking for a Building Control Surveyor to lead their new Building Safety Act (BSA) Principal Design Team in Bristol.

The Building Control Surveyor's Role
As the Building Control Surveyor, you will head up the newly formed BSA Principal Design team, overseeing high-profile projects and ensuring that all designs comply with the latest safety regulations. This role will involve managing a team of specialists and providing strategic advice to clients on how to meet their obligations under the Building Safety Act .
The successful Building Control Surveyor will
1. Lead and manage the BSA Principal Design team, ensuring compliance with Building Safety Act regulations.
2. Oversee the delivery of Principal Design services, ensuring that all designs are compliant with safety standards and risk management procedures.
3. Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing expert guidance on design and regulatory matters.
4. Liaise with project teams to ensure effective communication and implementation of design safety measures.
5. Develop internal policies and procedures to align with BSA requirements.
6. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with statutory requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will need
7. A qualification in Building Control, Architecture, or a related discipline.
8. Extensive experience in Building Control or Principal Design roles.
9. Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act and its implications.
10. Experience leading teams and managing complex projects.
11. A background in risk management and compliance within the built environment.
12. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
