An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic Senior Dietitian to join the Prepare well orthopaedic pathway and Cardiff and Vale Waiting Well support Service (CAVWWS). This post will develop skills and experience in a new team supporting people awaiting surgery. The individual will work alongside colleagues across directorates, including peri-operative care, surgery and therapies.
The CAVWWS is a developing team consisting of clinical and non-clinical staff who will offer support to those individuals on surgical waiting lists (including orthopaedic and general surgery) using a variety of platforms such as telephone, video and face to face. The CAVWWS will provide timely advice, signposting and support in order to improve an individual's health and wellbeing turning the time into active 'preparation' rather than 'waiting'.
The post holder will bring a breadth of key clinical skills in chronic disease management including Diabetes and weight management.
The dietitian role will provide a pivotal role in supporting and coordinating complex caseloads and providing specialist dietetic advice for non-clinical staff, planning and delivering training to the team, and developing face to face interventions within community settings for those newly listed for surgery.
Patient centred principles will be used to evaluate dietetic interventions in an outpatient setting and involvement in patient education programmes.
