Job Description
Randstad Student Support is currently recruiting Specialist one-to-one Study Skills Support Workers to support students with specific learning difficulties in the Nottingham area.
All successful candidates must be able to travel to the local University or college and offer both in person and online sessions flexibly to meet student preferences.
This role involves providing learning support and academic guidance, including creating an individual learning plan tailored to each student's needs and encouraging them to become independent learners.
The responsibilities of this role include:
* Developing independence in students
* Building on strengths and learning strategies
* Creating strategies around organisation and time management
* Creating action plans to stay on track with studies
* Improving research skills by using a variety of sources
* Distinguishing appropriate sources and correctly using references
* Enhancing comprehension skills in reading and writing
Candidates are required to act professionally, maintain confidentiality, and share relevant information with Randstad to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Requirements
To be considered for this specialist role, candidates must hold membership with one of the following professional bodies:
* British Dyslexia Association (BDA)
* Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE)
* Dyslexia Guild
* The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
Candidates must also adhere to the qualification framework set out by the Department for Education.
