You will support a team to deliver person-centred, outcome-focused, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties to support them to improve their emotional health and build resilience. This will include (F2F & virtual) individual, group work, and peer support.
Main duties of the job
This post will work under the line management of the Head of Service at Be U Notts. Managerial and clinical supervision will be provided. You will lead on our group offer, having oversight of the groups, their content, target audience, application, and outcomes. You will be assisting with the triage and assessment of clients and delivering interventions. The role will be varied, challenging, and rewarding as you will work as part of a diverse clinical team pro-actively developing the service through co-production, delivery, and ongoing innovation.

Job responsibilities
Main Duties and responsibilities:
* To create and design group sessions for YP meeting local needs of YP.
* To have oversight of groups taking place to ensure the clinician is in place and YP are prompted to attend.
* Have oversight of DNA's in groups and follow-up actions as appropriate.
* Have oversight of group outcome measures, their usage and reflect to ensure the process and interventions are updated.
* To support with delivery of the groups where appropriate.
* To obtain feedback following groups and amend group content accordingly, in line with evidence-based practice.
* To oversee the delivery of our professional training programme.
* To support the wider staff team with day-to-day risk and clinical support where required.
* Supporting with risk assessment and safety planning calls as required.
* Supporting with clinical records audit where required.
* Supporting with more information calls to YP, professionals, and families where required.
* Utilising analytical skills, specialist knowledge, and experience provide a comprehensive assessment and formulation of the presenting problem taking into account the child's educational attainment, chronological/developmental stage, inner world/emotional wellbeing, the mental health & wellbeing of the child's parents/carers, the family dynamics and environment, and the broader social context including school.
* Develop a planned short-term intervention utilising behavioural, cognitive, psychodynamic, and systemic perspectives as indicated by the formulation, the needs of the client and the evidence base.
* To deliver one-off or short-term therapeutic interventions to children and young people, working independently which may at times mean lone working.
* To develop alternatives to one-to-one therapeutic work i.e., group work, play therapy.
* To facilitate peer support with and for children and young people.
* To provide information, advice, guidance, and support as part of the single point of access function and support service with triage and assessment of CYP referrals.
* To maintain confidential case notes and records in a timely manner ensuring that these are stored securely using the specified case management systems.
* To develop links to other agencies and services and have a good understanding of local services for signposting and onward referrals.
* To positively manage risk and recognise and pro-actively respond to child protection and safeguarding issues.
* To support/cover other senior practitioners with tasks to support the team where required.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Professional registration with recognised National Body (HCPC, NMC, BACP, BABCP BASW, TRA), Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT qualification) or other therapy qualifications.
* Professional qualification and background in one of the following areas: Clinical Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist, Psychotherapists, Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, OT.
* Qualified to provide regular clinical supervision to counselling team.
Experience
* Confident in triage and assessment of CYP, supporting/offering interventions to children and young people presenting mild to moderate risk behaviours.
* Knowledge of safety factors in management of self-harming behaviours and/or suicidal ideation.
* A good working knowledge of principles underlying psychodynamic, systemic, cognitive and behavioural therapies.
* Knowledge of development in CYP, family development and of transitions.
* Minimum of 2-year experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
* Experienced in managing a caseload and supporting counsellors to do so effectively.
* Ability to recognise and respond to concerns about child protection and safeguarding.
* Ability to make use of supervision.
* Up to date knowledge of CYP emotional wellbeing/early mental health clinical evidence-based practice and support for parents/carers.
* Minimum of 2-year experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
