Working across all our departments this role supports the whole team. Our Assistant Purchasing Manager plays a vital role in the organisation, planning and coordination of the day-to-day operations. Supporting the Purchasing Manager in ensuring that quality and cost-effective products are procured and meet compliance with our Taymouth Castle and DLC procurement policies and procedures. Supervising and leading the team, making sure that company guidelines and SOP’s are followed. Reviewing and maintaining supplier relationships and the smooth operation of our supply chain.

Joining our procurement team, you will contribute to ensuring we receive high quality products and services efficiently and cost-effectively. Your diligence, organisation skills, and initiative-taking approach will play a crucial role in our procurement success. You will take ownership and assist with the receiving and checking of items as they arrive on site, making sure they are carefully stored as well as the picking and packing of products.
Supervising the procurement team and the day-to-day operations of all purchasing activities, including providing administrative support to the procurement team, including scheduling meetings, preparing documentation, and the maintaining of accurate filing systems; all accurate as well as invoice and supplier management.
Assist in the sourcing, purchasing, and procurement of goods and services as needed by our various departments. Participating in quarterly inventories in coordination with department staff. Coordinating and assisting in special projects relating to purchasing.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, ensuring seamless communication. Consulting with the various departments within the club to understand their procurement needs and ensure they have what they need when they need it. Coordinating with the finance team to ensure of timely payments to suppliers and resolving any invoice discrepancies.
Maintaining accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information in the procurement database. Building relationships with suppliers, including communication regarding orders, inquiries or issues with material returns or replacements, following up on any delivery discrepancies with the relevant supplier. Directing just-in-time deliveries, managing inventories and their distribution.
Actively demonstrating a willingness to support and achieve business objectives, by being prepared to complete other tasks or duties cross the Taymouth Castle Golf & Sport Club and Moness Resort Aberfeldy as and when necessary, and when reasonably required.

Previous experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management is a distinct advantage. Knowledgeable about purchasing, invoicing, stock inventories; multitasking and time management skills. Experience in warehousing, purchasing and logistics or hotel environment, distribution, purchasing and receiving transportation functions.
Excellent communication and people skills. Strong organisational, supervisory and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently. IT Literate with a good understanding of Office 365 packages. Procurement software or ERP packages an advantage, but not essential.
Initiative-taking, you take pride in the work you do and are enthusiastic about delivering the highest of standards. You exude a professional appearance, physical fitness, and stamina to perform tasks requiring heavy lifting and physical exertion as well as working at heights and operating warehouse equipment.
You can be flexible and adaptable with your approach to working hours. Well organised, punctual with a can-do attitude and an excellent eye for detail. An initiative-taking collaborator with an enthusiastic collaborative approach.
A valid UK Driving License as you will be required to transport items to locations across the estates.
