Role Overview: The role of a Care Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the people living within Orchard homes. We ensure that everyone is cared for with dignity and respect, and is engaged in how they receive support. You will help ensure residents engage in meaningful activities and receive optimal support according to their individual needs. Main Duties: Enable people to remain as independent as possible by providing support and assistance according to individual needs, including delivering personal care like washing, dressing, and oral care. Be understanding and patient, encouraging participation in leisure activities appropriate to individual preferences, ensuring social and emotional needs are met. This includes supporting individuals and groups to outside appointments and leisure outings. Responsible for making and changing beds, tidying rooms, and undertaking light cleaning duties to keep the home clean, pleasant, and welcoming. Assist in serving meals and drinks, ensuring attractive presentation and providing appropriate support at mealtimes. Comply with all statutory and legal requirements relevant to the role, such as Health & Safety, COSHH, and Infection Prevention and Control policies.
