Facilities Assistant - Ashbourne
Summary
‘Looking after what we’ve got’ is the essence of what we do every day, so with a range of buildings to care for alongside busy visitor facilities, we’re looking for a Facilities Assistant to ensure the safe operation, upkeep and presentation of the White Peak Estate and Longshaw.'
Hours: 30 hours per week
Salary: 19,110 per annum

What it's like to work here
You’ll join the Facilities & Support Services team, working across the Peak District to look after many buildings and visitor facilities. You’ll spend three days a week at the White Peak Estate, situated close to Ilam Park and Dovedale near Ashbourne, and two days at Longshaw (timetable to be negotiated with the team). With lots going on at all times, you can guarantee no day will be the same.
What you'll be doing
As the Facilities Assistant, you’ll play a core part in making sure that the Peak District’s buildings and outdoor spaces are safe and presentable for everyone.
You’ll quickly get to know our places inside-out as you’ll access all areas to complete routine safety tests, learn about our services and help with day to day operations such as unloading deliveries and collections.
You’ll turn your practical hand to all sorts of minor maintenance tasks to keep our facilities in good working order and you’ll have an eye on presentation at all times, undertaking caretaking duties such as cleaning, emptying bins, sweeping and litter picking in staff and visitor areas, both indoors and outdoors.
You'll sometimes find yourself working alone while at other times you’ll be working alongside colleagues. You’ll work closely with the Facilities & Support Services Co-ordinators and Rangers to organise planned, preventative and reactive repairs, meet contractors and respond promptly to issues and use your practical skills to conduct minor repairs where appropriate.
Whatever the day brings, you’ll ensure the highest standards of customer service by always implementing a ‘customer comes first’ attitude.
