This is an exciting HR leadership vacancy, working for a recognised market-leading, award-winning Financial Services organisation in Leeds city centre.
This role is responsible for providing leadership for the wider HR function ensuring that activities are aligned with the business's strategic direction as well as ensuring compliance with legislation and regulation.
This HR leader will act as counsel to the Senior Leadership Team by providing advice and guidance, overview of governance and organisation design.
Responsibilities
* Provide visionary leadership and direction for their areas of responsibility.
* Set the agenda of activities for their areas of responsibility, ensuring they focus on strategic direction, performance, culture, governance, talent development and sustainability.
* Develop an effective approach which ensures that management processes align and reinforce culture.
* Provide direction and advice on organisation design and development to provide sustainability and alignment with the strategic business plan.
* Provide counsel and advise to key stakeholders including direct reports.
* Promote and foster inclusive leadership and independence of thought at all levels.
* Bring and promote commercial insight to decision-making in all aspects of the role.
* Work with the Board on specialist areas of work including people issues and mergers and acquisition due diligence.
* Advise on matters relating to succession and sustainability.
* Contribute to the formation of the strategic agenda and ensure timely and accurate execution for own areas.
* Take responsibility for the delivery of the strategic business objectives.
* Oversee the delivery of the corporate governance model.
* Oversee Directors performance reviews and support any resulting personal development plans.
* Oversee the governance in relation to the SMCR regime, ensuring documentation, processes and procedures are in line with FCA regulations and Committee Terms of Reference.
* Act as a role model in championing values and taking opportunities to reinforce our values, behaviours and desired culture.
* Provide leadership to the team via direct line reports to ensure execution of the roles and responsibilities and enhance the overall effectiveness of the team.
* Ensure succession plans are in place to identify talent, areas of risk and promote ongoing personal development.
* Foster a culture of openness and supportive behaviour.
Professional Development
* Oversee the supervision and professional development of colleagues ensuring the framework and processes are fit for purpose and deliver a compliant approach.
* Ensure colleagues have the knowledge and skills to support a performance culture and the delivery of the strategic plan.
* Report any risks which may be detrimental to reputation, which arise from inadequate procedures, systems, or data handling with particular emphasis on conduct risk.
Experience and Qualification Requirements
* Financial Services sector experience is essential.
* CIPD qualified.
* Experience leading a full suite of People teams including payroll and benefits.
* Educated to degree level and/or professional management qualification.
* Significant strategic HR experience, including managing organisational change.
* Track record of working effectively at a strategic level and working with Board members.
* Demonstrated significant stakeholder engagement which builds supportive relationships.
* Demonstrated ability to drive high-level transformation and restructuring.
* Experience of developing and implementing workforce and employee relations strategies, policies and procedures, governance and culture frameworks.
* Experience of creating departmental strategy aligned to the overarching Company business plan.
* Experience of inspiring, motivating, leading and developing teams.
* Ideally multi-site experience.
* A high level of ‘across the board’ business understanding within a relevant financial services firm.
* Current understanding of the FCA's regulatory environment.
* Ability to set and maintain a positive workplace culture of support and achievement for our people, that reflects the Firm’s values, behaviours, and culture.
