Job summary We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and highly-motivated individuals to join our friendly team of Clinical Pharmacy Technicians at Solihull Hospital. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering a high-quality medicines optimisation services, ensuring the safe and effective use of medication for patients. You will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to support patient care, enhance medication safety, and improve service efficiency. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to assessing and managing medication supplies, providing guidance to patients on their prescriptions, supporting clinical teams, and contributing to medicines management within intermediate care units. You will also have opportunities to engage in training, mentoring, and service development projects. In addition, you will also work within our chemotherapy satellite and Community Services team on a rotational basis. Main duties of the job With a patient-focused approach, you will: - Support the pharmacy department in the provision of complete pharmaceutical care to patients. - Deliver a high-quality ward-based medicines optimisation service to a multitude of areas throughout the Trust. - Act as a role model and provide training and mentoring to junior staff members. - Support the main pharmacy dispensary where required. - Carry out accuracy checking commitments. - Carry out duties within the chemotherapy satellite and Community Services team on a rotational basis. Key Person Specification Requirements: - A nationally recognised pharmacy technician qualification and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council. - Currently practicing as a registered pharmacy technician with at least one year's post-qualification experience - A nationally recognised accredited accuracy checking qualification. - A professional attitude with the ability to motivate self and others. - The ability to remain calm under pressure. - A flexible approach and commitment to accommodate the needs of the service. - A strong attention to detail. - Experience working as a clinical pharmacy technician or similar capacity.
