The role:
1. Be concerned with customer satisfaction and transporting goods in a safe, timely manner
2. Pick up and drop off items while adhering to assigned routes and time schedules
3. Transport goods securely to areas where they are needed
4. Ability to operate commercial vehicles up to and over 7.5 tonnes, including vans, rigid trucks, and trailer lorries
5. Driving long and short distances
6. Spending nights away from home during long haul deliveries
7. Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
8. Ability to work well under pressure
9. Ability to operate and control equipment
10. Work as part of a team ensuring that orders are complete, packed correctly and safely delivered to the correct customer
11. Inspect the vehicles and perform basic support undertakings like refuelling, air pressures, oil levels, coolant etc
12. Recognise electrical or mechanical faults in the vehicles and report to the Transport Manager / Supervisor
13. Ensure the vehicles are kept clean and tidy both inside and out by washing vehicles or taking to car wash daily
14. Compliance with traffic rules
15. Hold the relevant licence for the vehicle you are driving
16. Precisely complete all paperwork connected with conveyance of the goods
17. Ensure tachograph is downloaded within required timescale and all driver regulations are adhered to
18. Guarantee that goods and staff are protected and secured
19. Answer customer queries as brilliantly as could be allowed
20. Report any instance of mishap or accident to the Manager
21. Report any case of accident, injury, or damage to the vehicles to the Transport Manager / Supervisor
22. Keep all records, including receipts for vehicle maintenance
23. Use the fuel card provided for diesel purchases
24. Keep up to date with driver weekly record sheet recording correct start/finish times and ensure these are handed in each week
25. Pay tolls and other fundamental vehicle demands when required
26. Dress professionally and in accordance with company dress code ensuring you wear the correct PPE (boots, gloves, visor, face mask, hard hat)
27. Report any failed deliveries to the Manager/Supervisor
28. Report to transport office at the end of each shift for debrief

Benefits
