Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Trafford Council, Childrens Assessment Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team.
The team works extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager.
Responsibilities will include:
1. Provide an efficient and effective social work service to children in need and their families, working as part of a multi-agency team to support vulnerable children remaining within their families.
2. Manage a complex case load on our North area team (based in Sale Waterside) and our First Response assessment team, including case proceedings, court work, child in need, and child protection experience of 3 years or more.
3. Adopt an innovative approach to supporting children's social care and ensure continuity of care to our vulnerable service users.
4. Undertake child and family assessments and have significant experience of working with children and young people in care as a practitioner, with a thorough understanding of key legislation, regulations, guidance, and frameworks.
5. Deliver high-quality social work with our children and young people aged 0 – 18 years, working on a locality team.
6. Demonstrate knowledge, experience, and skill in social work assessments, undertake detailed holistic assessments, and maintain clear and concise reports.
7. Liaise with other professionals.
8. Work 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation) on a 3-month temporary contract, with the start date subject to DBS and reference clearance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent, must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS, and be a car driver.
