We are seeking a committed and motivated SEND Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a Special School in Chelmsford. This full-time role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA to support students with special educational needs, helping them engage with the curriculum and achieve their potential. The position is temporary to permanent, providing an excellent pathway to a stable, rewarding career in education.
As an HLTA, you will support both the teaching staff and students, providing tailored assistance that enhances learning and development. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in students’ lives while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide classroom support to students with special educational needs, both one-on-one and in small groups.
* Assist in planning and delivering lessons alongside teaching staff.
* Support students’ social and emotional well-being.
* Monitor student progress and report back to teachers and staff.
* Help maintain an inclusive and positive classroom environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Previous experience in an HLTA role or supporting students with SEND is preferred.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping students achieve their best.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
