Blair West is supporting John N Dunn as they look to recruit a Finance Manager into their finance team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will oversee the day to day running of the finance team, spotting areas for development and improvement in controls and processes as well as leading a small team of transactional finance professionals.
The opportunity:
* Manage the operational workload of the Finance Department to ensure management information and reporting is produced in accordance with deadlines.
* Ensure all transactions processing is accurate, complete and timely - raising journals and accruals as appropriate.
* Provide the first review of monthly Management Accounts with supporting Management Information before the Group Finance Director review.
* Oversee production of cashflow projections and VAT returns.
* Review payroll prior to processing.
* Review bank and all other monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure correcting journal entries are processed.
* Take the lead role in financial audits and tax inspections and to make appropriate management recommendations based on third-party recommendations arising.
* Assist in the production of budgets and forecasts.
* Make appropriate recommendations for the improvement of transactions processing procedures and to advise of their impact on the business.
* Deputising for Group Finance Director during absences.
You'll be the ideal candidate for this position if you're someone who:
* Is a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA).
* Has thorough practical understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
* Is able to manage, motivate and develop a team.
* Displays a high degree of communication skills, particularly attuned to working well with non-finance professionals.
* Has first-hand experience in planning, budgeting and forecasting.
* Is used to working in fast-moving environments, providing accurate and timely information to a high standard.
* Has good IT skills – particularly Excel.
* Is highly organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise the workloads of a busy team in a fast-paced environment, ensuring efficiency and focus on key objectives.
