At BW Legal, data drives all of our decision-making. As a Junior/Graduate BI Analyst working in our experienced BI/MI team, you will utilise data to inform decisions across the company. Using your technical skills, business acumen and creativity, you will work as part of a team building tools to automate reporting and generate insight that will allow business-wide stakeholders to quickly and accurately see how our key products and processes are performing.
From your first day, you’ll be involved in projects from inception to delivery, ensuring that your team’s reporting delivers high-quality and relevant data to intelligently grow our business.
As a Junior BI Analyst, you will use your investigative and problem-solving skills to analyse data and uncover trends that deliver actionable insights for the business. You’ll work with industry-leading experts to hone your already impressive analysis skills, as well as develop your ability to work with and navigate our cutting-edge databases and tech-stack.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Processing ad-hoc data requests for senior stakeholders across the business
2. Collating user requirements to create new reporting and MI suites
3. Assisting in maintaining and improving existing business process automation using SQL
4. Identifying anomalies and developing solutions to improve overall reporting
5. Managing existing MI reporting, ensuring accurate and timely delivery for both internal and external customers
6. Providing analytical insight from operational and financial data to support the delivery of business objectives
7. Building relationships with key business persons to promote the use of MI/BI throughout the business
We ask you to have the following skills and experience:
1. A recent graduate / currently in your final year studying for a Maths, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering degree, or a degree in a related subject
2. Experience using a coding language to process data, such as R, Python or MATLAB
3. Confident individual who is comfortable liaising with other departments and presenting their ideas to the team
While not essential, the following skills and experience would be advantageous:
1. Experience of MS SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and querying using T-SQL
2. Experience in data processing and/or coding language analysis
3. Microsoft Excel skills, including pivots and charts
Your working week will be 6 hours per day, 9am-3pm, Monday to Friday.
With a starting salary of £23,000-£25,500 Junior BI Analysts enjoy regular performance-based reviews which reward their success with a clear progression path for future earnings.
