THE ROLE
On behalf of our Leicester Client, we are seeking to recruit a Sessional Interpreter - Slovak/Czech on an on-going basis for the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust.
Job Purpose: To provide interpreting within the Health Service. As a Sessional Interpreter, you will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication between English-speaking professionals and Slovak/Czech speaking individuals.
This role bridges the communication barrier and is a key facilitator in helping the community.

Rate of pay: £12.00
Holiday Pay: £1.45
Booking Process: Interpretation requests are emailed to the Interpreter as and when the requests come through. The hours offered each week will vary. The bookings will happen between 08.30am and 17:00pm Monday to Friday. Each appointment will be approx. 1.5 hour in duration, and will be within the Leicestershire area.
You will be required to travel from home to the appointment, so it is important you are able to access transport in and around the Leicestershire area.

Duties and responsibilities
To act as an interpreter between non-English speaking clients and Health Professionals in face-to-face situations, or on the telephone.
To provide an interpreting service to other agencies at the request of the Project Manager.
To ensure completion and return of forms and other relevant documentation for each interpreting session to allow monitoring and evaluation of the Interpreting Service.
To inform the Manager of any difficulties experienced in the interpreting sessions.
To attend Resource Centre to provide all interpreting service for the centres clinics if required.
To adhere to the Trust policies and procedures

Skills and experience
Qualifications:
A Level or other equivalent qualifications Bilingual skills Certificate - desirable
Experience:
Previous interpretation and translation experience
Working with people in a caring environment
Working within community settings
Knowledge and Skills
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels in English, both written and verbal
Ability to interpret and/or translate accurately and fluently using the correct interpreting and translating techniques
Must be able to follow instructions
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to cope with stressful situations and deal with clients in an appropriate manner
