Deadline for applications: midday 30 October 2024 The Centre for Criminology is looking for a Research Assistant to work with Dr Hoeger on project ‘Measuring Harm for Violence Against Women and Girls Social Research Fellowship’ They will be responsible for the provision of research support for phase two and three of the project. The Research Assistant’s role will include providing support for literature reviews, qualitative and/or quantitative data analysis, attending relevant meetings, and completing administrative tasks. The postholder will manage own research and administrative activities, within guidelines provided by senior colleagues; gather, analyse, and present qualitative and/or quantitative data from a variety of sources; represent the research group at external meetings/seminars, either with other members of the group or alone and contribute to research publications, book chapters and reviews. The successful candidate will hold a first degree together with some relevant experience; possess sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes and have the ability to manage their own research and administrative activities. It would be desirable for candidates to have experience of working with police data and general knowledge of debates concerning applying algorithms and machine leaning methods to public policy issues.
