Brook Street Recruitment is delighted to be working with our legal client in Bangor - County Down to recruit a new full time and permanent experienced Paralegal. They will be looking for this person to start in August 2025
The ideal candidate will preferably have experience working on cases involving children, matrimonial disputes, cohabitation agreements, and separation proceedings. Other paralegal experience will also be considered.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced solicitors, supporting clients through complex legal processes while maintaining the highest standards of client care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist solicitors in preparing and managing family law cases, including those involving children, divorce, cohabitation, and separation.
* Briefing counsel, taking client instructions, drafting statements, attending meetings with client and counsel
* Conduct legal research and draft documents such as court forms, witness statements, and correspondence.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and records.
* Communicate effectively with clients, providing empathetic support and clear legal guidance
* Liaise with courts, barristers, and other external parties as required
* Assist in preparing for court hearings and trials.
Requirements:
* Experience - Preferred to have experience in family law, particularly in cases involving children, matrimonial disputes, cohabitation, and separation but other areas will be considered
* Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise with clients in sensitive situations.
* Organisational Skills: Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with case management software.
