Job Purpose
We have a great opportunity for an Occupational H&S Business Partner to join us. As role holder you will work with the Head of Occupational Health and Safety in the development and management of the corporate Occupational health, safety and wellbeing framework, standards, procedures and guidance that will drive compliant occupational health and safety programmes across the business.
Developing the HSW team to provide subject matter expertise in Occupational health and Safety including occupational hygiene, health surveillance and Wellbeing and personal safety. You will also work with the H&S leadership team to identify and implement continuous improvement in systems standards procedures and guidance through simplification and standardisation.
Development of corporate H&S strategies and improvement programs for key occupational health, safety and wellbeing activities.
Job Accountabilities
* Development and continuous improvement of corporate Occupational health, safety and wellbeing standards, procedures and guidance.
* Work with the Head of Occupational Health and Safety to develop Occupational HS&W plans and strategies for the business and deliver area improvements in line with the wider UU H&S strategy.
* Provision of accurate and up-to-date occupational health & safety information and advice to support legal compliance and continuous performance improvement.
* Management of associated contracts including (e.g. third party exposure monitoring, health surveillance and support services) ensuring KPIs are delivered within budget.
* In collaboration with the learning and development team, enhance the occupational health, hygiene and safety training programs and support in the development of competence profiles for key operational roles and the wider health & safety team.
* Support of selected Directors (e.g. People, Communication, Asset Management etc.) to develop H&S plans that deliver sustainable improvements in line with the wider Corporate H&S strategy.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders including the Health & Safety Executive and Water UK.
* Regular participation in designated area Leadership team meetings and field visits to support the leadership in the delivery of HS&W policies, procedures, standards and improvement plans.
* Track completion of the H&S improvement plans in their business areas and escalate any concerns to area Leadership.
* Provide advice as required on UU health and safety requirements.
* Completion of H&S incident investigations through to root cause and close out.
* Coach and mentor H&S advisors in effective support and challenge.
* Provide support as required into UU wide improvement programs.
