Joining a group of Lead Technicians, the role supports the Chief Technician to ensure we deliver a safe and high-quality Pharmacy Dispensary service. Working within the Lead Technician group to manage the day-to-day coordination of a Dispensary area, the role is a great opportunity to gain leadership and operational skills within a busy acute hospital Pharmacy setting. The role will be based at our Inpatient Dispensary at City Hospital campus. Main duties of the job Key duties of the Lead Technician group: - Support day-to-day management and coordination of a Pharmacy Dispensary area, planning and organising staffing to ensure an appropriate skill-mix, ensuring continuity of service. - Participate in the dispensing and accuracy checking process, including the dispensing and safe handling of oral cytotoxics and controlled drugs. - Assist in the monitoring of service Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure quality, effectiveness and efficiency. - Review service standards and provisions and implement change where appropriate through project improvement work. - Complete individual staff annual performance reviews (appraisals) and support to identify objectives and training requirements. - Support managing Pharmacy Dispensary staffing absence supported by the Trust Wellbeing and Attendance Management policy. - Involved in the recruitment and selection of Pharmacy Dispensary service staff.
