Risk & Insurance Team The Risk & Insurance team supports Blackstone Real Estate’s portfolio companies in building more resilient businesses by minimizing total cost of risk, optimizing risk management best practice, and leveraging scale to offer bespoke insurance and alternative risk transfer solutions. What you’ll be doing: Assist with the policy renewal process from the initial stage of compiling underwriting information and preparation of pre-renewal summary reports through negotiating policy terms and ensuring the correct coverage terms are reflected in policies Assist with the onboarding process for a new acquisition to ensure portfolio is properly enrolled or maintains adequate coverage separately Support portfolio companies with their risk management initiatives and proactively ensure they maintain comprehensive insurance if not part of the master insurance program Work with brokers and third-party attorneys to ensure insurance programs comply with lender requirements Develop a strong understanding of the nature of each portfolio business to ensure insurance programs continuously accommodate the changing needs of a growing portfolio Support senior management in interpreting policy terms and conditions (including separate programs in play or partner’s programs) Assist with preparing presentations for senior management in making recommendations for renewing current programs, implementing new programs, and one-off transactions as required by the business Support the analysis of loss data to identify loss trends and recommend corrective measures to control, reduce or eliminate future losses Lead loss improvement efforts including managing carrier demands and property manager relationships to ensure recommendations are considered and there is fluid communication between all stakeholders. Responsible for maintaining the risk management information system platform and other technology systems to ensure data integrity to be upheld Skills and Requirements Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in business, insurance and/or risk management 1 years' experience in an insurance risk management department, brokerage firm, or insurance company Spanish speaker preferrable but not mandatory In-depth knowledge of insurance expertise on Property, Liability, and other Specialist Lines of Cover Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to analyse financial information Ability to create concise reporting for senior management Working towards a CII certification Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
