Integrated community team are looking for skilled individuals with phlebotomy experience to join us to work within our community nursing service. We are looking for Band 2 Phlebotomists who will be part of a team delivering a high-quality service to housebound patients supporting referrals from our local partners.
We are a cohesive team who are supportive, caring and passionate about delivering excellent patient care. As a phlebotomist, you will work closely with nursing colleagues and the referral centre to deliver a phlebotomy service Monday to Fridays.

Main duties of the job
The role of the phlebotomist is to provide a service to support community nursing within the Integrated Community Team (ICT). To ensure patients are able to access timely venepuncture as a result of an appropriately completed request from a clinician.
* Demonstrate an awareness of physical, psycho-social, cultural and environmental needs of patients and their family/carer when in patient's homes.
* Obtain high quality blood samples from patients in the home environment.
* Responsible for planning day to day work tasks and activities within an occasionally unpredictable environment.
* Work independently and as part of a team.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working in a healthcare setting with patients.
* Experience in venepuncture.
* Experience of community working.
Qualifications
* GCSE level pass or equivalent in Maths and English.
* Completion of venepuncture training and competency.
* NVQ in relevant topic (such as healthcare) or other relevant training.
Professional/Specialist Experience
* Knowledge of common blood test requests and process.
