Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Bournemouth Contract Type: Full-Time, Temp to Perm Start Date: ASAP We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Bournemouth supporting students who have social, emotional and mental health needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with children who require additional support, helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include: Providing one-to-one or small group support for students with SEN, including those with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other learning difficulties. Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities. Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment. Supporting students in developing key life skills and building their confidence. Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.What We're Looking For: A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development. Experience working with children with SEN/SEM (desirable but not essential). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.Qualifications: GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent). A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or SEN (desirable).
