The Department Our Dispute Resolution and Litigation team specialises in providing bespoke solutions for clients in all forms of litigation, arbitration, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Our expert team of legal advisors and support staff across the department are known for their ability to handle complex matters involving multiple issues. The team works on all types of disputes and for a range of clients,including working with large corporate clients, smaller businesses, entrepreneurs, schools, and individuals. The range of work is diverse includingcontractual disputes, director and shareholder disputes, professional and other forms of negligence, insolvency, education law, regulatory and corporate defence, construction, contentious property issues for landowners, landlords or tenants and contentious trust and probate. The Role Main Purpose of the Role The role of Regulatory Associate involves providing legal advice and representation on complex regulatory issues, including compliance, investigations, enforcement, and litigation. You will work closely with clients across a variety of sectors, ensuring they navigate regulatory frameworks effectively and mitigate risks. Providing a tailored, client-focused legal service to a wide range of clients. Managing a varied and dynamic regulatory caseload with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach. Expanding and enhancing the regulatory offering at Tees, building on our reputation for excellence. Mentoring and supporting junior team members with their caseloads, fostering their development and confidence. Assisting the Head of Department and partners by supporting and contributing to their client work. Responsibilities Client Matter Management : Handle a complex and varied caseload of client matters with minimal supervision, delivering high-quality legal advice and proactively managing client relationships. Client Service Excellence : Provide exceptional client service by identifying and addressing client needs, offering tailored solutions, and leveraging cross-referrals to enhance client satisfaction and firm profitability. Fee Generation and Team Development : Achieve individual fee targets while supporting team goals by mentoring and developing junior colleagues to strengthen overall performance. Time and File Management : Organise workload effectively to meet business targets and demonstrate excellent file management skills. Cost-Efficient Service Delivery : Ensure legal services are delivered in a manner that balances client needs with cost-efficiency for both the client and the firm. Team Leadership : Support and mentor junior team members, providing guidance to assistant solicitors and senior associates, and delegating tasks effectively to optimise team performance. Technology Integration : Leverage technology to enhance team productivity and assist in the implementation of new systems and processes. Client Value and Business Development : Identify opportunities to add value to clients and improve profitability, anticipating client needs and contributing to the firm’s growth and reputation. Reputation Building : Make a significant contribution to the firm’s standing within the community through professional excellence and participation in community activities, attracting new clients and business partnerships. Marketing and Networking : Lead and participate in marketing initiatives, such as presenting at events, networking, conducting seminars, and contributing to industry publications. Continuous Development : Pursue additional technical qualifications and stay updated with regulatory changes to enhance the quality of legal advice provided. Regulatory and Compliance Expertise : Advise clients on regulatory compliance, governance, and policy across diverse industries. Represent clients during regulatory investigations and enforcement actions. Draft responses to regulatory inquiries, including witness statements and documentary evidence. Handle litigation related to regulatory breaches, including tribunal and court representation. Conduct risk assessments and recommend strategies to mitigate regulatory risks. Collaborate with internal teams, including corporate, employment, and commercial litigation, to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.
