We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy Team at HMP Winchester, a Category B male prison just outside of the city centre. HMP Winchester has free onsite parking as well as excellent transport links - there is a bus stop opposite the site and the train station is a 10 minute walk.

Hours: You will be working 37.5 hours per week, usually between 09:00 - 17:30.
Salary: This position is full time, and you'll receive an annual salary of £24,669 - £28,690 depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
* Complete general dispensary duties and stock management
* Be an active member of the Pharmacy team to ensure delivery of the pharmaceutical service
* Provide a timely and efficient service to the prison wings
* Receive prescriptions and stock returns from wing-based clinical areas
* Participate in dispensing of prescriptions and medical equipment

Qualifications and Experience
Our new Pharmacy Assistant will:
* Ideally have an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills/equivalent or working towards
* Medicines handling experience desirable but not essential
* Experience within a Pharmacy environment (such as community or hospital-based) is desirable but not essential
* Any experience with ProScript or SystmOne would be a bonus
* A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Good IT skills and IT literacy
