We wish to appoint an Electrician to join the team The Campus Infrastructure Department are responsible for the strategic planning, development and management of the University’s lands and buildings, you will join the Electrical Services team. Your new job will involve: Undertake small to medium size installations/alterations works as part of building refurbishment or change of use projects. Planned and reactive maintenance activities in the University's academic buildings, residences, and sports facilities. Repair tasks across the range of electrical building services, plant and equipment Some simple mechanical work You must have: completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship, be qualified to minimum City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification a BS 7671 18th edition certificate relevant technical experience in larger buildings or commercial facilities good problem solving, customer service and communication skills Ideally, you will also have: Extensive knowledge and experience in the maintenance of modern fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, LV distribution, intruder alarms, access control systems, telephone and data wiring City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification Demonstrable mechanical skills or be willing to train for them Further information: This is a full-time role, working 36.5 hours (Monday-Friday). You will be required to taking part in an on-call rota, which attracts an additional allowance. Overtime opportunities are also available.
