Job summary
The post holder will develop their skills in delivering training and education to a wide range of staff including medical students, Foundation and Core trainees.
The post promotes the delivery of the well-established Medicine service and enhances our patient outcomes.
The post can be based at either of our main sites with established patterns of cross-site working.
The specific post will be discussed at interview depending on current vacancies with an expectation to contribute to the registrar rota.
Main duties of the job
* Managing a spectrum of medical patients.
* Assistance and supervision of the F1, F2, and GP VTS doctor with the management of patients.
* Strengthening service delivery of high-quality Specialised Medicine Services across the hospital and community.
* Developing further links between Medical subspecialties and other divisions.
* Developing innovative practices in clinical patient management, focusing on high-quality care.
Medical Education
The post-holder will increase the faculty of doctors delivering education to undergraduate students alongside current staff, clinical teaching fellows, specialised foundation trainees, departmental lead for medical student teaching, and the Trust Phase Leads for the medical school.
You will deliver and have the opportunity to further develop the innovative and sustainable teaching programme which covers the MBChB curriculum for University of Sheffield students. This may comprise various methods of teaching including bedside teaching, plenary sessions, simulation, and Virtual Reality.

Qualifications
Essential
* MBChB/MBBS or equivalent.
* Completion of Core Training or equivalent within Medicine.
* Applicants must have full GMC registration and continue to hold a License to Practice.
* MRCP Part II written and PACES (Medicine).
Teaching

* Experience of and enthusiasm for clinical teaching of medical students, junior colleagues, and non-medical staff.
Practical/Intellectual Skills/Personal Qualities

* Must be able to demonstrate clinical experience and competence in Specialty expected of a doctor at ST3 - ST5 and above level.
