To provide a point of contact for patients and act as a focal communication between patients, doctors and other primary healthcare team members. To learn how to provide administrative support to a team and to provide a high level of customer care, work as part of a busy reception team and back-office support.
- Receive and make calls as required
- Divert calls and take messages as appropriate
- Ensure that paper medical records are available to the doctors upon request
- Cancel patient’s appointments when necessary
- Moving appointments to different clinics if asked by Supervisors
- An ability to use own judgement and resourcefulness, common sense and local
knowledge to respond to patient enquiries and requests
- Strict adherence to patient confidentiality at all times
