We are looking for candidates based in Cambridge, Nairobi, and Santiago. These are a pro bono positions. The responsibilities of each Research officer consist mainly of the following: Participates in monthly secretariat coordination calls led by secretariat manager Supports a portfolio of CISDL programs and projects by maintaining all important information for that portfolio and supporting the program coordinators, program lead counsels and project leaders to ensure that they run smoothly Facilitates the research efforts of the CISDL programs, Lead Counsels and Senior Research Fellows, Research Fellows and Associate Fellows, including legal briefs, working papers, law journal articles, and books where appropriate. Coordinates the research efforts and projects of the 4 country offices of CISDL in Montreal, Cambridge, Nairobi, and Santiago by tracking research projects in their region, and global projects as relevant to their region, and ensuring they are added to records maintained by the International Secretariat. Works with the Publications Officer to track and coordinate publications being produced by the organization’s members from their region. Works with the Senior Director and Lead Counsels, in support of Programme Coordinators, to help develop the Legal Research Strategy of the CISDL and to ensure that the Strategy is carried out. Coordinates, along with other members of the secretariat, aspects of CISDL academic workshops, panels, guest lectures, side events and other scholarly events. May be requested to make presentations at workshops and other events.
