Job Role: Mechanical Engineer (Plumber)
Location: HMP Woodhill, V2 Tattenhoe St, Milton Keynes MK4 4DA
Salary: £41,818.21 per annum, +5% additional for working shifts covering weekends
Contract: Permanent, 39 hours per week, full time
We are seeking an NVQ Level 3 qualified Plumber to join our team at HMP Woodhill, a High Security, adult male prison as a Mechanical Engineer.

We are a Ministry of Justice business and provide critical and time-bound services to HMPPS, and are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with at least one of the following qualifications and a combination of skills and experiences:
1. Two years' experience working in a role as a plumber or equivalent - Desirable
2. Be familiar with and able to work to Water supply regulation and Control of Legionella L8 requirements - Desirable
3. Experience working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems - Desirable
4. Good working knowledge of planned preventive maintenance operations - Desirable
5. Fully qualified tradesperson to NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline, plumbing or equivalent - Essential
6. Good working knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements - Desirable
7. Good Health & Safety knowledge - Desirable
8. Unvented water heater vessel course G3 - Highly desirable
9. L8 awareness training - Desirable (Provided if required)
